IPL and Environmental Awareness

Its good to hear that IPL committed to a strong vision of green growth by launching a partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

There is no doubt about that the environmental awareness will reach to millions of people all over the world and especially in India.

But looking into the tournament I have a doubt about what IPL guys doing in the cricket stadium is keeping awareness in their mind !!!! How much fire crackers are they using in each and every match. Do you think this can be justified ?

How much light can be saved if it is running in the day light ?

Not saying IPL is doing good for Green like Climate Neutral Network, the Billion Tree Campaign and World Environment Day. IPL will also promote environmental awareness, highlighting the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity, the Clean-Up the World Campaign and other environmental initiatives in coming years .


But watching the IPL matches and can you able to say yes for IPL matches are playing truly a Green League ???
