World Diabetes Day in Bangalore

More than 240 million people worldwide are living with diabetes. Within 20 years, this number is expected to grow to 380 million. We are responsible to aware the community about this global epidemic and the World Diabetes Day comes on November 14 of every year. This year (2007) is the first United Nations observed World Diabetes Day.

World Diabetics Day Activities in Bangalore:

* World Diabetics Day in Bangalore officaly inagrauted at Cubbon Park at Bangalore on November 14 2007 at 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Remember that India is the number one hub for the diabetics and don't forget to attend this event.

* Following this event there will be a free diabetes check up and consultation for every one. Apart from this check up 20 mobile vans with one doctor and two nurses will cover the entire Bangalore for a long three months and conduct free check ups for the Diabetics

at Forum Mall Bangalore

* 246 Step Walk - Any walks held on or around World Diabetes Day symbolically recognize the 246 million people estimated to be living with diabetes worldwide.

What is Diabetes?

"A disease in which the body does not properly control the amount of sugar in the blood. As a result, the level of sugar in the blood is too high. This disease occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or does not use it properly."
